CPP chides judiciary’s mum on Hindu girl’s rape

HYDERABAD, Dec. 05: Violence and atrocities with non Muslim population of Sindh continues since long but the people belonging to Meghwar, Kolhi, Bheel and Bagri are treated worst than animals. Kidnapping of their girls and sexually assaulting their innocent children has crossed all bounds of humanity because the majority of these communities are of working class. This was observed by the secretary general Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) comrade Imdad Kazi.

He said the recent incident of sexual assault on a 6-year-old Meghwar girl at Ghulam Nabi Shah town was slap on the face of humanity. He censured government that despite the matter being highlighted in media it was shamelessness on part of it that it has not moved to take any action. He also slated the attitude of so called judiciary for not taking notice of such a heinous crime and keeping mum on it. He made appeal to enlightened society of Sindh to raise voice against the gory incident with full force.
He asked minority people of these castes to gherao police stations as well as those influential; who were providing shelter to the culprits.

CICIL SOCIETY DEMO AGAINST THE INCIDENT: Leaders of various organizations and civil society of Sindh held protest demonstration in front of press club here on Wednesday against the sexual assault on Meghwar girl in Ghulam Nabi Shah Town of Umerkot district. Those who led the demonstration were Punhal Saryo, Wishnumal, Ms. Nazeer Qureshi and Dr. Dileep Daultani, comrade Hussain Bux Thebo advocate, Dr. Ashothama and others. The organizations that took out joint rally and held demonstration included HRCP, Hari Porhyat Council, Bheel Progressive Organisation, Meghwar Students Federation, Sindhiani Tehrik, Awami Jamhoori Party and others.

They lamented on silence of government which never tires of claiming themselves people’s party but do not turn to the vows and sorrows and pathos and plights of working class minorities. They demanded immediate arrest of real culprits. The relatives of Meghwar girl Vijenti who was made victim of rape told that they have nominated one person but police was protecting him on behest of local influential. They warned if the nominated accused was not arrested the civil society will not rest.
