Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Haider and son killed in Lahore firing
LAHORE: Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Haider, a senior member of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), was shot dead along with his son when unknown armed men opened fire at their vehicle near FC College in Lahore on Monday morning, The Lahore Times reported.
The sources said that Dr. Ali, who was Professor of Ophthalmology in PGMI & Lahore General Hospital, was driving his son to school today morning when unknown gunmen opened fire on him.
Dr. Ali died on the spot while his 12-year-old son Ali Murtaza succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
The deceased was the son Dr. Syed Zafar Haider (Professor of Surgery) and son in law of Dr. Iftikhar Ali Raja (Professor of Neurosurgery).
The Shia Post blamed that Sipah-e-Sahaba for the attack on Shia Doctor and his son.
In a statement, PMA has strongly condemned this brutal act of target killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
Police officials said that the incident seems to be outcome of personal enmity.
The police registered a case and started investigation into dual murder.
