Quaid-e-Azam Police Medals recommended for SSP and ASP Sukkur
KARACHI: The Inspector General of Sindh Police has recommended Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal (PQM) for the two officers of Sindh Police, Mr. Irfan Ali Baloch (SSP Sukkur) and Masood Ahmed Bangash (ASP City Sukkur) who demonstrated outstanding bravery and courage when four terrorists, armed with hand grenades, suicide vests and assault rifles, launched the organized attack on the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) office in the upscale Sukkur Barrage Colony in the evening of Wednesday July 24, 2013. At least four people were killed and forty injured in five consecutive explosions.
Sukkur Police response was quick when they launched their combats response and rescue services within the few minutes of the attack. SSP Irfan Baloch and ASP Masood Bangash were on forefront when the attack happened. This set an example for their fellow & sub-ordinates policemen to fight with bravery and efficiently conduct rescue and cleanup operation.
ASP Masood belongs to Khyber Pakhtunkwa. After completing his engineering degree from the University of Engineering Peshawar – he joined the civil services of Pakistan as ASP in police. He is currently posted in Sukkur since 2012. Masood Bangash is the youngest officer of police nominated for Quaid-e-Azam Medal.
