Naked sleep? What an idea, you say! Yet, pajamas and other sleepwear are not necessarily right for you. According to various scientific studies, sleep naked can indeed be very good for your health.

How would you prefer to bundle up under your duvet when night falls? Pajamas, underwear or naked as a worm? The majority will answer “at least with clothes on body.” Yet, while 8% of respondents in 2011 say they prefer to sleep naked, better sleep without any fabric on the body if you believe some scientific studies, evoked by the site EliteDaily.

Here are five reasons whereby naked sleep is good for health!

YOU WILL SIMPLY SLEEP BETTER

According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, more natural body temperature decreases, you sleep deeply. Or, wear pajamas disrupts the decrease in body temperature and, hence, your sleep cycles. And this can lead to insomnia. If you sleep naked and let the natural body temperature decline, you should sleep better.

YOU COULD REDUCE THE SIZE OF YOUR BELLY

Sleeping on your bare belly, this would reduce the fat in your belly and even reduce your cholesterol. Indeed, while the body cools at night, cortisol decreases the rate until the second half of the night, during which the rate increases energy expended in preparing the next day. Or, if your sleep is interrupted because of uncomfortable clothes, for example, your body will naturally produce more cortisol, believing that you have already spent energy during the night. Excess cortisol can, therefore, give you more appetite.

YOU WILL END YOUR LIBIDO

According to a sex therapist interviewed by The Huffington Post, sleep naked “encourage sexual relationships and happier relationships”. And more sex increases the production of the hormone oxytocin, which reduces stress and the risk of depression. Any profit, then!

YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO TAKE A SHOWER IN THE MORNING

This is becoming a habit for many people: we get up; we are going to the shower. However, if you sleep naked, the body temperature will be lower and you’ll have no sweating problem or more oily hair. You do not need to get up thirty minutes early to take a shower in the morning, take it rather the night before.

YOU WILL FEEL SEXIER

Come on, seriously, have you seen today’s pajamas? Do you feel really sexy in it? Whereas if you sleep naked, you feel better with your body and you will be happier in your life, beyond those nights in a well cozy bed, the skin against the cover. So go ahead, take your pajamas and enjoy the outdoors!
