Drone leaves five dead, including Uzbek commander in South Waziristan
On Sunday, American drone strike killed five militants in South Waziristan, including Uzbek warlord senior, said sources close to the intelligence services.
The bombing took place in the area of Shawal in the region of South Waziristan.
Highly unpopular in Pakistan, strikes using drones are a mainstay of the military strategy of the United States in the fight against terrorism. The leader of the Pakistani Taliban was killed in one such attack in late 2013.
However, they have become increasingly rare, especially outside of North Waziristan, a region where the Pakistani army is engaged in a military operation against Taliban.
Uzbeks and other foreigners fighting alongside the Taliban in Waziristan but their exact number is unknown.
