Brian Hibbard

Deaths are always tragic even it’s of a nobody. However, if a famous actor or singer dies, everyone around the world who knew him, including his fans, contribute in giving him their blessings, as well as sharing the sorrow and grief. Famous Welsh actor and singer Brian Hibbard passes away due to prostate cancer.

Brian Hibbard was the number 1 singer in the 1980’s and was a part of a capella band, “The flying Pickets” with the hit cover song, “Only you.” He passes away on Sunday evening.

Brian Hibbard produced the Flying Pickets in 1982 with a crowd of fellow fringe theatre actors, choosing this particular name because several band members had been involved in Britain’s miner’s strikes in the 1970s.

After its success in the 1980’s they could not keep that particular scope of their victory as their music entered a steady decline. The song “only you” astonishingly spent five weeks at the top of the British singles chart over the Christmas period.

In 1986, Brian Hibbard left the band and opt acting as an interesting career. He then started appearing in soap operas “Coronation Street” and “Emmerdale” and several other English as well as Welsh language dramas and skits.
