NAB rejects reports about favour or victimization in action against culprits
ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has rejected the media reports regarding favouring or victimization, in action against the culprits involved in various cases.
In a clarification statement issued on Tuesday, NAB said that a section of media has published/air a new item carrying grievances of Mr. Rana Mashood Khan, Provincial Minister, Punjab regarding NAB proceedings against him and his letter to the chairman of the Bureau in this regard.
The statement said that the letter addressed by Mr. Mashood to the chairman NAB was being processed in accordance with the law and SoPs and added that the NAB wishes to assert that any proceedings against anybody are conducted strictly in accordance with the law, with utmost objectivity and without any consideration of fear of or favor to anybody. A person alleged to have committed a cognizable offence is provided ample opportunity of defense and hearing before appropriate forum.
It is reiterated that all inquiries in NAB are conducted by a Combined Investigation Team (CIT) comprising of Investigation Officers, Prosecutors and Senior Supervisory Officers. There is no possibility of any one individual influencing the conduct or outcome of such proceedings.
