VC Islamic University Bahawalpur expresses gratitude to CM for providing electronic arms to a special student

BAHAWALPUR: Prof Dr Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has expressed his gratitude to Mian Muhammad Shabaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab for providing electronic arms to special student Hafiz Muhammad Waqar Nizami.

He said that the knowledge friendly and educational vision of the Chief Minister has proved to be a landmark in the human resource development of the province. Provision of billion of rupees to the students in the head of scholarships, laptop to thousands of students, the provision of solar energy through solar lamps under Ujala Scheme and the appreciation given to position holders is an obvious proof of the knowledge friendly Chief Minister. Similarly, the special students are also getting benefit from these facilities on priority basis and under the patronage of Chief Minister are achieving the academic progress with comfort.

Hafiz Muhammad Waqar Nizami , a student of M.Phil in Islamic Studies Department at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, lost his arms in an accident twelve years ago and was facing problems in his daily life for seeking education. The provision of electronic arms was announced for him yesterday by Chief Minister Punjab.

Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq further added that the government of Punjab is making efforts for special persons which is highly commendable and IUB is providing facilities to special students by remaining within its resources including provision of special transport and wheelchair. A special information center in this regard has been established in Abbasia Campus, where the special students without any obstacle submit their issues which are addressed immediately.

The IUB has made efforts to convert all the buildings comfortable for special persons and a special package has been submitted to Governor Punjab Secretariat. According to this package in all buildings of the university the installation of lift system, construction of special ramp and provision of electronic chairs are included. Vice Chancellor said that very soon special cards will be issued to special students so that they may avail the facility in hostel, finance, bank and other offices on priority. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor also lauded the courage and bravery of Hafiz Muhammad Waqar Nizami, special student, who has been continuing his studies in spite of his disability and has also excelled in co-curricular activities. He praised the efforts of Imran Sikandar Balouch, DCO, Bahawalpur for achieving electronic arms for Hafiz Muhammad Waqar Nizami.
