CTD arrest ‘terrorist’ in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Feb 02 (INP): The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday arrested a suspected terrorist from Board Bazaar area of the provincial capital.

The accused identified as Ghufranullah is reportedly involved in terror activities, extortion and other serious crimes. He had fled from the custody of security forces in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency while his two cohorts are already in the custody.

17 POs among 50 criminals arrested in Attock

The police on Tuesday arrested 50 wanted criminals, including 17 proclaimed offenders (POs), during a search operation in different areas of Attock.

Arms and drugs were also recovered from the accused’s possession.

10 suspects arrested during action in Karachi

At least 10 suspects were arrested during a police search operation in various areas of the city.

According to police officials, the door-to-door search operation was carried out in various areas, including Nazimabad, Kathiawar Colony, Colonel Town and Bara Maidan.

They said that an SMG (short machine gun), which was snatched from cops on January 27, was recovered from Kashmir Road.

16 outlaws including five gamblers held

Islamabad Police have arrested 16 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered narcotics, snatched cash and valuables from their possession, a police spokesman said.

On a tip off, Nilor police team arrested five gamblers red handed and recovered stake money, valuables and gambling tools from them. The nabbed persons have been identified as Walayat, Javed, Habib, Hadayat and Zeeshan.

Meanwhile, Aabpar police arrested Haroon Masih and recovered 350 gram heroin from him. Tarnol police apprehended four persons Sohaib, Waqas, Naseem Khan and Ahmed involved in illegal sale of petroleum products.

Lohibher police apprehended five persons Hussain, Ehsan, Ali, Abid Hussain and Ghulam Abbas involved in decanting gas in cylinders illegally. Ramna Police arrested Adnan allegedly involved in theft. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.

Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to accelerate their efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements.

FC arrests three suspects of banned outfit in Dera Bugti

The Frontier Corps (FC) arrested three suspects of a banned outfit during operation here on Tuesday.

Spokesman of FC said that paramilitary forces conducted search operation against anti-state elements in Shah Zain Goth area of Dera Bugti.

During operation three people were arrested over suspicion of have contacts with a defunct organization and the detainee were being interrogated.

Kidnapper gang busted, two abductees rescued in Kashmore

The police busted a six-member kidnapper gang after exchange of fire and rescued two abductees during a operation here on Tuesday.

SSP Umer Tufail said that the police to rescue two persons abducted three week ago, conducted operation in Kabolo, Kaccha area of Kashmore during which exchange of fire took place.

The police after encounter rescued the two abductees besides arresting six-member kidnapper gang and after registering a case against them started the investigation.
