SIU police bust gang involved in cop murder and bank dacoities
ISLAMABAD, Feb 3 (INP): Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has busted an inter-provincial gang of criminals involved in murder case of policeman as well as bank dacoity incidents besides recovering weapons and looted money Rs. 25, 00,000 from them, a police spokesman said.
On a tip off about presence of a proclaimed offender Nasir Hussain in area of Tarnol wanted to police in dacoity and murder cases, SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani constituted special team headed by SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas. This team including DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon, Sub-Inspector Tariq Rauf, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Zulfiqar Ali, Muhammad Imran and others raided at the informed place and succeeded to arrest Nasir Hussain along with his other accomplices Riaz Hussain and Jabir Hussian.
After preliminary investigation from them, police also nabbed their two other accomplices from Faizabad area identified as Mazhar Abbass and Naqeeb. Police recovered cash looted cash Rs. 2,50,000 from Money Changer and banks.
During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to commit several bank robberies in Lahore, Chichawatni, Sahiwal, Haripur and Karachi.
They revealed to resort firing on police team of Islamabad Margallah police station after dacoity in F-10 on November 16, 2012 which resulted the death of ASI Muhammad Riaz and injuries to Head Constable Rizwan Mustafa as well as other local people. They also confessed to commit dacoity at National Saving Centre Murree Road Bhara Kau on May 21, 2014 and at Faisal Bank PWD on March 31,2014. Other dacoites admitted by them in Islamabad were at Allied Bank Limited Chatta Bakhtawar Habib Bank Swan Camp on April 18, 2014 and Habib Bank at Khanna area on October 22, 2014.
Police team also recovered two 30 bore and one 32 bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession. SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this overall performance of SIU Police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for members of police team. He said it prime responsibility of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens and every effort should be made to accomplish this task.
