CM Punjab suspends DGPR officer over corruption charges, orders inquiry


LAHORE, Feb 05 (INP): Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif on Friday suspended senior officer of Punjab Information Department, Abdul Majeed Shahid over corruption charges and directed for inquiry against him.

Shahbaz Sharif took the action over the summary dispatched by the Information Ministry alleging DGPR official Abdul Majeed Shahid of being involved in corruption and misuse of the office besides counseling his suspension which was approved by the CM.

Meanwhile, Dr. Raheel Siddique has been appointed as inquiry officer who will investigate the charges against the suspended official and will present a report to CM Punjab in next few days.
