Pakistan’s Response

PM Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz

Foreign Advisor Sartaj Aziz’s talk has made it abundantly clear at the Washington meeting that Pakistan would not take a unilateral step to limit its nuclear capability & arsenal unless America demands India to the same. He went on to say, the biggest threat to the security of the country is India, not the terrorism.

Imbalance in strategic weapons poses a threat to the peace in the South Asian Region. Najam Sethi paid analyst with Geo group in his Aapas ki Baat program said that America has made this demand under Indian pressure. He has no clue about policy making process in Washington. Sometimes it’s better to leave such matters to experts.

But our political analysts and pundits over exaggerated things. I hope some sense will prevail. American foreign policy is made by the Pentagon & the American establishment based on its own interest.

I think Pakistan’s response is appropriate. Full marks for Foreign Adviser Sartaj Aziz statement.
