Commissioners must ensure ‘zero profiteering’ in Ramadan: PPP leaders
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders Najmi Alam, Nadeem Bhutto and Habibuddin Junaidi have urged upon the civil administration at the district levels to diligently perform so as to ensure the poor get the relief and are safe from the clutches of the profiteers who find the holy month of Ramadan as best opportunity for minting money from the masses in this holy month.
In a statement issued from the PPP Media cell, Sindh, they said that the Commissioners, deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners should avoid sending reports to the provincial government which claim all is good. Instead, the officers of the district civil administration should leave their offices and ensure their regular visit to the markets to curb the menace of te profiteering. The officers should also focus on wholesalers and brokers in fruit market rather than leashing out their wrath on the retailers.
They said the district civil administration has the legal binding to perform as per the aspirations of the masses and the masses have the right to get their issues especially the profiteering resolved.
