HCCI lashes at HESCO: 10 minute showers cause 48 hours power outage
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has lashed out at Hesco accusing it of inefficiency and carelessness for maintaining power supply.
In a statement, Ziduddin former vice president and media coordinator of HCCI said 10 minutes showers or rain exposed the performance for Hesco as it caused 48 hours load shedding during which the whole population of 35 lacs remained under darkness. He said HCCI has been inviting the attention of Hesco for repair work of feeders and grid stations, but their statements were termed as political.
He said despite funds of Rs.380 millions available with Hesco it failed to carry out no renovation of repair work resulting the whole city plunging in darkness. He said city business life remained paralysed, and viceroy of Hesco CEO Akhtar Randhawa terms 48 hours load shedding as a light technic fault.
He said with power outage people were wandering in search of drinking water. He said even there was no water for ablution in mosques. He said even Sindh government could not come to rescue 35 lac thirsty people of Hyderabad.
He demanded from federal and provincial governments to immediately arrange the supply of water for drinking for Hyderabad and other cities of Sindh.
