Axact Fake Degree case: Shoaib Sheikh sentenced to 7 years in jail

On Thursday, Axact CEO and 23 others were sentenced to 7 years behind the bars. The verdict against Shoaib Sheik and 23 other Axact employees was announced by a district and sessions court in Islamabad in Axact Fake Degree Scandal case.

On conclusion of hearing of this most-talked-about case, the District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Mumtaz Hussain announced the verdict following which, the CEO and other accused in the same case were sent to the prison.

Earlier, the entire 24 accused personnel had acquitted by a trial court judge while additional district and sessions judge had recently confessed that for acquitting Shoaib Sheikh; he had received Rs. 5 million. The Islamabad High Court had later accepted an appeal filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), against the acquittal of the all accused.

The IHC had then declared the acquittal of Sheikh and others void.
