NATO helicopter crashed in Afghanistan

A NATO military helicopter crashed due to poor weather on Thursday, according to the U.S. military.

The incident took place yesterday and, at the moment, it is not clarified whether anyone on board survived or not.

According to a U.S. defense official, who wished to remain anonymous, the Black Hawk helicopter crashed in the Regional Command-Southwest area including the stronghold of the Helmand province.

The official went on to say that bad weather initially caused the crash but, however, no information was available about casualties.

Since the War on Terror began in 2001, almost 3,000 foreign soldiers have died in Afghanistan.
