Million Smiles Foundation and NETSOL Technologies sign memorandum of understanding, agree to work together in the field of education The school in Naqdar Neelam Valley in Azad Kashmir will be sponsored by NETSOL. Pakistan’s leading NGO Million Smiles Foundation and Pakistan’s leading software company NETSOL Technologies have pledged to work together in the field of education across the country, including in Azad Kashmir.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the NETSOL head office in Lahore with the participation of Zeshan Afzal, co-founder of Million Smiles Foundation and Salim Ghauri, Founder and CEO of NETSOL Technologies. The senior members of both organizations were also present at the event.
NETSOL will sponsor a school in the Naqdar Neelam Valley area of Azad Kashmir through the Million Smiles Foundation, in which more than 160 children will receive free education. For this, stationery, school uniforms, and other necessary goods will be provided to the children. The future plans of NETSOL also include state of the art computer lab to be set up in school to make the youth tech-savvy. .
While talking on the occasion, Zeshan Afzal, co-founder of Million Smiles Foundation, said that he would like to thank God that eminent people of the corporate world have also started joining us in this journey of goodness.
“We are committed to providing access to education to every child across the country, including in Azad Kashmir,” said ZA. In a rapidly changing world, it is very difficult to live without consciousness and for this purpose, we are trying to popularize education, ZA added.
The Million Smiles Foundation has already adopted 5 schools in Azad Kashmir – functioned them – where 800 children are being provided free education. He said the Million Smiles Foundation would launch more such projects in near future soon across Pakistan.
“I am delighted to be working with the Million Smiles Foundation and we are confident that the children who graduate from this school will one day make a name for themselves in the world,” said Salim Ghauri, CEO – NETSOL Technologies. He said, “Computer education is the backbone of the modern world, so we are planning to set up modern labs in the school as well. We will continue to work hand in hand with the Million Smiles Foundation.” It is to be noted that earlier 5 schools have been rebuilt and are now functional in Azad Kashmir by Million Smiles Foundation. These schools have been set up in areas where there was no interest in education. However, now more than 800 children will receive free education. In addition, a mosque in Azad Kashmir has been renovated by the Million Smiles Foundation.

This effort of NETSOL/Million smile is worth appreciation. Education is the right of every child but in Pakistan the literacy rate in the democratic era has declined at a greater rate on the basis of the vested interests of the politicians which wanted to keep their vote bank intact through illiteracy. It is good that this model school is being opened in a far flung area ,but the situation in the cities of Pakistan in education is even worst than the rural areas. I’ll suggest that such type of initiative may be taken in the urban areas as well.
Rawalpindi cantt is a place where there is no government school and it is not possible for the civilians to get admission in FGSchools as these are the schools are run by army and are for the children of army personnels with a limited number of seats for civilians .Education in private street school is very expensive very poor in quality..
I have a pretty good experience of teaching ,if given an opportunity ,I, can manage the education system.
