Rodney King, key figure in Los Angeles race riot, dies at 47

Rodney King

Rodney King, the person known for being from one of the most destructive race riots in the American nation’s history, died yesterday. He was famous for his 1991 videotape beating by the Los Angeles police officers. He was 47 at time of death and his fiancé reported that she had found him at the bottom of the swimming pool at their home in Rialto, Calif., police Lt. He lay there in the water, completely unresponsive and not knowing what was happening around him. News channels report that there will be a further investigation team responsible to find out the cause of Rodney King’s death and also produce the autopsy report.

The King was feared even by the officers since they were aware of his strength and retaliation. On one occasion, Rodney King was stopped for speeding on a lonely street. 4 police officers hit him with batons more than 50 times and opened fire at him 4 times but he still remained alive.

In an interview earlier this year with the allied press, Rodney King said he was a happy man. He further commented, “America’s been good to me after I paid the price and stayed alive through it all. This part of my life is the easy part now.”
