CPWB rescues 10-year injured maid in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) on Saturday rescued an injured 10-year-old maid during a raid at a house here.

A CPWB team on public complaints raided the house of Sheikh Azeem in Peoples Colony Y-Block and found young maid Awais critically injured. The maid was allegedly tortured by the house owner and his wife Kiran.

The rescued child was shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for treatment and will be produced in Child Protection Court.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the culprits involved in torturing the house maid.

Strangled body of missing SSC student found

Police on Saturday recovered the strangulated body of a missing student wrapped in a gunny pack hanging on a tree in Buttranwali area here.
 
The deceased, who was a student of 10th Class, left the house for school some three days ago and did not return home. The police said that the incident seemed to be an outcome of personal enmity.

A case has been registered against unknown murderers at the respective police station and investigation was in progress.
