HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company has sharpened its teeth against defaulters in all 14 districts to ensure 100 percent payment of bills and disconnected power supply lines of 1460 consumers while its teams have removed 1350 illegal kundsa. On directives of Hesco chief Noor Ahmed Soomro 50 teams were busy in action. He has again asked consumers to ensure 100 percent payment of their bills which was a must for the smooth working of HESCO.
The operation was continuing in Nawabshah, Daur, Kazi Ahmed, Sanghar, Badin, Sakrand, Tando Adam, Tando Allahyar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Digri, Naukot, Mithi and other areas.
1460 defaulters whose power supply lines were cut off were having arrears amounting to more than Rs.29.5millions while FIRs have also been lodged against 1350 illegal kunda holders in various police stations. According to Hesco’s spokesman during the operation, an amount of more than 316 million rupees have also been collected.
Hesco Chief has meanwhile made an appeal to consumers to make payment of their bills to ensure power supply to them and also to avoid legal action against them.
