Andhera Ujala’s Jaffer Hussain (Jamil Fakhri) dies

Versatile actor Jamil Fakhri has passed away in Lahore Mayo Hospital after suffering paralysis, a media report said Thursday. Fakhri was suffering from coma owing to his liver infection and blood pressure. This is worth mentioning that Jamil Fakhri had played hundreds of memorable characters in all quarters of performing art. His performances in TV dramas, movies and stage plays will last for years to come. His peerless performance in ‘Andhera Ujala’ written by Younas Javed in 80s won him everlasting fame.

Several showbiz celebrities have expressed deep condolence over Fakhri’s demise.

The actor’s luck turned harsh on him when his eldest son Ali Ayaz Fakhri went missing in America for almost two years. The trauma, the pain he suffered in that time of uncertainty resulted in aggravating him ailments. Some months back, when media took the issue, Pakistani government engaged the US authorities to search the missing Pakistani, but all efforts resulted in a bad news that Fakhri’s son was killed in a road accident after a day he went missing. The actor could not recover after the news of his son’s death and with the passage of time, Fakhri’s health kept on deteriorating. He was shifted to Mayo Hospital for treatment. Owing to his health condition, the doctors kept him on ventilators, but he could not recover and succumbed to ailments.

A couple of days back, Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif had directed the Mayo Hospital authorities to conduct treatment of the legendary actor with utmost care. The medical superintendent of the hospital was also directed for treating Fakhri on government expenditure.
