Parvez Elahi alleges awarding of Orange Line contract to inexperience business firm
LAHORE, Jan 31 (INP): Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) and former chief minister, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that improving condition of the people of province should be priority of government instead of giving billion of rupee annual subsidy on Metro and Orange Line projects.
Talking to media persons at his residence on Sunday, Parvez Elahi said that Rs140 annual subsidy on Metro Bus and Orange Line Train projects will be addition burden on people of province who were already in grip of multifaceted crises and will deprive them of basic amenities such as education and treatment facilities.
He alleged that contract for construction of Orange Line has been awarded to such an inexperienced firm which has not undertaken such project previously and it deals in arms business.
Parvez Elahi said people are protesting everywhere but the provincial government is bent upon eliminating beauty of provincial capital and demolishing historic buildings.
