Three grenade attacks rock Karachi, three injured

KARACHI: Some unidentified miscreants on Friday hurled hand grenades outside a police station, girls’ college and a school in a span of an hour here, injuring two children and a policeman.

According to police sources, three suspects on two motorcycles threw a grenade at Mubeena Town police station, injuring a policeman. A vehicle parked outside the police station was also damaged in the attack.

Two other motorcyclists tossed a hand grenade near APWA Girls’ College in Karimabad area. No one was injured in the incident. However, the grenade blast created as students and staff ran out of the college with some seeking refuge in the streets.

A third grenade attack was reported near the main gate of a private school in North Nazimabad s L-Block near Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. Two children were reportedly injured, who were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

Fear and panic gripped the areas after the attacks. Law enforcement personnel arrived at the venues and launched investigation into the incidents.
