KARACHI: Hamdard University and Ihsan Trust (IT) of Meezan Bank have signed a MoU for providing Qarz-e Hasna to students of Hamdard University (HU), purely on need-cum-merit basis.
The purpose of this MoU is to strengthen each other’s capacity and playing their role in providing education to those communities and individuals who have been admitted to Hamdard University on merit and are not in a position or cannot afford the tuition fees.
This agreement will benefit the bright students of Hamdard University facing financial difficulties and will enable them to carry out their studies uninterrupted. In the presence of HU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Hakeem Abdul Hannan the MoU was signed by the HU Registrar Syed Nasir Ali Mirza and Fayyaz ur Rehamn Khan, Vice President / CSR and Special Projects Product Development and Shariah Compliance (PDSC), Ihsan Trust (IT) of Meezan Bank.
In addition, Hamdard University is also regularly providing scholarships to its students on the basis of merit-cum-need and hardship. Last year, it has disbursed an amount of Rs. 60 million to its promising and academically sound students.
An application form will be provided to the aspirant students. The information provided in the application form will be assessed and investigated. Short listed students will be interviewed by the Selection Committee of Ihsan Trust.
