Pakistani Taliban rallied Saturday at the Islamic State group (IS). They called activists from across the region to support the cause of the jihadist movement for the establishment of a transnational caliphate.
“Oh brothers, we are proud of your victories. We are with you in joy and sorrow,” said Shahidullah Shahid, spokesman for the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
“Give up all your rivalries”
“In these troubled days, please patience and perseverance needed more than ever now that all your enemies are united against you. Pray, give up all your rivalries. All Muslims of the world have high hopes for about you. We are with you,” he said.
There is no evidence at this time that there are tangible links between the TTP and the AR, but members of the active movement in Syria and Iraq have recently been seen distributing leaflets in Peshawar, northwest Pakistan.
