Kenichi Ito, ‘Monkey Man,’ sets world record in 100meters; on all fours

TOKYO: Japanese Kenichi Ito, a.k.a. “Monkey Man” broke the world record in the 100 meters on all fours, a performance certified by the Guinness World of Records.

Inspired by the technique of the Red apes of Africa, Ito ran the distance in 17.47, beating its previous record of 2008 of 18.58.

Kenichi Ito started practicing the quadrupled race nine years ago. Since then, he trains every day, moving this way both home and then to his work place.

Filled by this new record, Kenichi, 30, hopes to Jamaican Usain Bolt’s 9.58 record one day.
