British Under Secretary meets Sartaj
ISLAMABAD: Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz says, Pakistan is an investor friendly country and offers excellent business opportunities.
He was talking to Parliamentary Under Secretary for Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom Tobias Ellwood here on Tuesday.
Adviser emphasized the need to encourage the British small and medium entrepreneurs to invest in diverse areas of Pakistan’s economy.
The two sides discussed the entire range of Pakistan-UK bilateral relations. They reiterated the desire of their respective governments to strengthen this relationship.
Special emphasis was placed on increasing bilateral trade and investments from the UK to Pakistan.
Sartaj Aziz also briefed Ellwood on Pakistan’s counter terrorism efforts and the National Action Plan.
Appreciating Pakistan’s counter terrorism efforts, Ellwood said the improvement in security situation would help improve climate for investment and trade in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Charge d’ Affairs-designate of Portugal to Pakistan Joao Yao Paulo Marques Sabido Costa called on Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs in Islamabad today and presented his credentials.
On this occasion, the two sides discussed various issues including bilateral cooperation, trade and investment, parliamentary relations and people-to-people contacts.
Matters relating to regional and global importance also came under discussion.
