Jagmohan Dalmiya’s Shradh Ceremony on October 2

MUMBAI: The Shradh Ceremony of Jagmohan Dalmiya will be held on Friday, October 2 in Kolkata.
October 2 is also a national holiday celebrated in India to mark the occasion of the birthday anniversary of late Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi) , who was also known as the “Father of the Nation”.
After being diagnosed with the heart problem, Dalmiya died due to the stomach hemorrhage in Kolkata’s BM Birla Heart Research Centre on September 20.
Dalmiya remains the only BCCI president who died during his tenure as the president of the Indian cricket board.
“With profound grief we regret the sudden demise of our beloved Shri Jagmohan Dalmiya on 20th September. Shradh Ceremony will be held on 2nd October 2015 at 10, Alipore Road, Kolkata-27,Time-10.00 AM onwards”, the card distributed by the family to the relatives, friends and cricketing fraternity reads.
Few BCCI officials and Dalmiya’s supporters are likely to attend the Shradh Ceremony.
The immediate surviving members of Dalmiya family are : Chandralekha Dalmiya (wife), Vaishali Dalmiya (daughter), Avishek Dalmiya (son), Koeli Dalmiya (daughter-in-law) and Aditya Dalmiya (grand-son).
Koeli, the wife of Jagmohan Dalmiya’s son is a daughter of the late Shantanu Mitter. They married in June 2011.
Avishek Dalmiya is all set to be the joint secretary of the CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal).
Sanjay Manjrekar, the former India batsman, and BCCI joint secretary Amitabh Choudhary and few other present-day and former cricketers were scheduled to remain present at Jagmohan Dalmiya’s condolence meeting on Wednesday.
