Two more death row convicts hanged
FAISALABAD: Two death row convicts were sent to the gallows on early Thursday morning in the Central Jail Faisalabad.
The death row prisoners Shoukat and Ikhlaq had killed two real brothers Tariq Javed and Zafar Iqbal in 2001 inside building of the court. The dead bodies of Shoukat and Ikhlaq were later handed over to their relatives.
Meanwhile a dacoit was killed and another arrested in injured condition in an alleged encounter with police on Thursday in Faisalabad.
According to police sources, two robbers were escaping after looting a house on Maqbool road and upon information, police party chased the dacoits. When police stopped robbers in the limits of Batala Colony police station, the robbers opened fire at police party and in the retaliation a dacoit was killed and another sustained injuries.
Police arrested injured robber and shifted dead and injured to hospital for medical legal formality.
