33 suspects arrested in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Police and law enforcement agencies on Thursday arrested at least 33 suspects, including six Afghan nationals, during a search operation in various areas of the provincial capital.

According to police sources, the operation was carried out after tip-offs from the secret agencies about the presence of suspected terrorists in the areas. The police also claimed to have recovered lethal weapons and ammunitions from their possession.

The police said that all the entering and exit points of the area were closed during the search operation.

CTD arrest wanted terrorist with Rs 5m head money in Malakand

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday arrested a wanted terrorist belonging to a banned outfit having head bounty of Rs 5 million in Malakand Agency.

Accused Ibrahim was reportedly involved in several terror activities, including attacks on security personnel, targeting public installations and kidnappings. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had placed Rs 5 million head money for his arrest.

Dual murder accused arrested in Quetta

The police on Thursday arrested an accused of dual murder during an operation in Nawan Kaley area of the provincial capital.

According to Superintendent of Police Mehmood Noutazai, the accused had gunned down his son and brother in-law over some domestic disputes a few months ago and then disappeared.

Two fake gold dealers arrested in Karachi

Two fraudsters were arrested by police on charge of selling fake gold in Shah Faisal Colony area here on Thursday.

The police on a tip-off raided a house in Shah Faisal Colony and arrested the two suspected fake gold dealers Zafar and Mansoor. More than 417 fake gold bars were also recovered from the house.

The accused reportedly used to make people fool by selling fake gold. They had already been arrested in a similar case.
