At least 2 dead in south China landslide


NANNING: Two persons were confirmed dead and four others were missing after a landslide destroyed a building in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region early Monday morning, Peoples Daily reported.

Emergency response office in Du’an Yao Autonomous County under Hechi city received information in the wee hours of Monday that a two-story building in Fude village collapsed in a landslide.

Rescuers rushed to the scene and recovered two bodies. Four people were believed to be still trapped in the rubbles.

According to local sources, it did not rain when the accident happened. The cause was being investigated.
