Two bank robbers killed in Karachi
KARACHI: Two members of Tiger Group involved in bank robbery incidents in Karachi were killed during exchange of fire with police in Korangi area on Thursday .
The encounter took place when Special Investigation Unit (SIU) personnel tried to stop suspected robbers at a checkpoint in Korangi.
The suspects opened fire on SIU men and two of them including Arsalan Iqbal and Dilawar alias Tiger were shot dead in retaliation while another suspect managed to escape from the scene.
Identities of robbers were confirmed through CCTV footages obtained from banks. Police have confiscated weapons and motorcycle from suspects’ possession.
SSP Farooq Awan said that Tiger Group has robbed eleven banks.
Raids are being conducted for arrest of head of Bangla Dacoit Group Saeed-ul-Salam and Farooq Chooha of Tiger Group.
