RCB devises cleanliness strategy for Cantt areas

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has devised a strategy for cleanliness in cantonments areas and to monitor performance of sanitation staff, including sanitary workers and sweepers, and ensure their attendance.
According to RCB Chief Executive Officer Dr Saima Shah, the new strategy was aimed at improving cleaning of sewerage lines, streets and roads.
Under the strategy, a sanitary diary each would be placed at all the ten wards of the RCB from March 1 for registration of complaints and suggestions by the residents of the areas.
Ward councilors and RCB officers would pay surprise visits to the areas concerned to monitor sweepers and sanitary workers, and their deans. They would ensure early resolution of complaints and problems notified by the area residents.
The attendance of sanitary workers and sweepers would be ensured and those who would be absent from work without information would be dismissed.
