Three miners die of suffocation in Duki coal mine


QUETTA: At least three laborers working in a coalmine died and three others fell unconscious due to suffocation of poisonous gas filled in a coal mine in Duki area of Balochistan on Friday.

According to Mines Inspector, the miners were engaged to extract coal from the mine hundreds of feet below the ground level when poisonous gas filled there. As a result, three coal miners died and three other fell unconscious due to suffocation.

Other labourers present near the scene retrieve the bodies out and unconscious from the coal mine and shifted them to hospital, where the bodies were handed over to the heirs for burial after completing legal formalities.

The deceased and affected coal miners were stated to be the residents of Duki area of the province.
