FAISALABAD: Unidentified men opened fire on the car of well-known stage actress Hina Sheikh in Faisalabad. Mansoorabad police have registered a case and launched a search for the suspects.

Sheikh had travelled from Gujranwala to perform in a play at Faisalabad’s Sabina Theatre. After the incident, she alleged that stage actor Silk Chaudhry had arranged the shooting over a personal grudge.

The actress has demanded strict action against the culprits from the CPO Faisalabad. Faisalabad Information Secretary Muhammad Ajmal took notice of the attack, calling it a distressing incident that took place late at night. According to him, Azma Bokhari is working on an emergency footing to prevent such incidents. Ajmal said the search for those involved is under way.

CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing unidentified men brandishing weapons and later fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
