LAHORE: Accountability within the ranks. A police constable allegedly involved in illegal activity within the jurisdiction of Harbanspura police station has been arrested.

According to a spokesperson for the DIG Operations, Constable Huzaifa was taken into custody along with a co-accused and both have been locked up. A 30-bore pistol and a motorcycle were recovered from the pair.

The spokesperson said legal action was initiated against the police official without any discrimination on account of his position.

The DIG Operations said the process of accountability inside the force is continuing without exception. Nobody is above the law, he said, and the rule of law will be enforced regardless of the nature of the offence or the standing of the accused.
