Two Months Without Gas: Zubair Colony Residents Take to the Streets

LAHORE: The gas crisis in parts of the city has hardened into open protest. Residents of Zubair Colony, located behind General Hospital, say they have been without a Sui Gas supply for more than two months and have now taken to the streets in anger.

Daily life in the neighbourhood has been badly disrupted. Residents complain that despite receiving no gas whatsoever, they continue to be billed — and are being forced to pay those bills in full.

With no supply at home, families say they are surviving on expensive LPG cylinders or buying cooked food from hotels and eateries, an added burden at a time when household budgets are already stretched. Repeated complaints, they say, have failed to move the department responsible for restoring service.

The residents have appealed directly to senior officials to guarantee the resumption of Sui Gas in the area. (Source: City 42 / Lahore News)
