LAHORE: In an unprecedented disciplinary measure aimed at reforming precinct governance, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Lahore, Muhammad Faisal Kamran, ordered the suspension of all 78 officers and staff at the Ghaziabad Police Station. The sweeping administrative action followed allegations of severe misconduct and procedural non-compliance involving an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI).
According to the official release from the Lahore Police Operations Wing, the command established that precinct leadership failed in basic supervisory duties by allowing unauthorized access and violating protocol regarding female citizens.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code alongside provisions of the Police Order 2002. To ensure institutional continuity, Inspector Ali Zeb Dastgir was immediately posted as the new Station House Officer (SHO).
“Maintaining discipline, effective supervision, and a public-friendly working environment is non-negotiable. Every officer within a station must adhere to institutional ethics, and negligence will meet swift accountability,” says DIG Operations Faisal Kamran.
Furthermore, Punjab Prosecutor General Irfan Sadiq Tarar summoned the primary investigative team to review prosecution integrity, ensuring a merit-based legal process. The Operations Wing has initiated citywide administrative audits across all 84 police stations in Lahore’s six divisions to enforce standard operating procedures.
