Working long hours increase risk of stroke: Study
A study published in the medical journal, The Lancet, people who work long hours are likely to have a stroke (CVA).
The results are based on investigated involving more than half a million people.
The study showed that, compared to a working week of 35-40 hours, the risk increases by 10% for those working 48 hours and is 33% for more than 55 hours.
Dr. Mika Kivimaki from University College London said that researchers are only at the beginning of understanding the phenomenon.
But the stress of long hours or being seated for long periods is known to be bad for health and can increase the risk of stroke.
