British Airways plane catches fire at Las Vegas airport
LAS VEGAS: Aircraft of British Airways caught fire on Tuesday at Las Vegas airport, media reports say.
According to details, the left engine of a London-bound British Airways plane caught fire while it was prepared to take off from Las Vegas airport however the cause of the fire wasn’t clear yet.
The blaze resulted in damaging British Airways aircraft.
Moreover, firefighters doused the fire while British Airways administration has started the investigation of the incident.
According to McCarran International Airport spokesman Chris Jones, all 159 passengers and 13 crew members aboard Flight 2276 were able to escape on emergency slides of the plane.
While sliding down from the plane at least 14 people suffered minor injuries and were transported to Sunrise Hospital.
British Airways spokeswoman Caroline Titmuss said “safety is always our priority.”
Caroline Titmuss said that the airline was “looking after customers” but didn’t elaborate. She said the airline would release more information about Tuesday’s fire later.
