Sri Lankan team management seeks match-referee’s permission for Chandimal to share the dressing room
COLOMBO: Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal, who has been suspended for the two immediate matches (of his team) against India and Bangladesh on March 12 and March 16 respectively, may still be the part of the team, according to the team manager Asanka Gurusinha.
On Sunday, the ICC match referee (Chris Broad) handed him a two-match suspension for slow over rate during his match against Bangladesh on Saturday.
“He (Dinesh Chandimal) will be there at the match on Monday. He is still our (off-field) captain and our team management will be discussing with the match-referee whether he can still be a the part of our (off-field) team. Will also request the match referee to allow him to share the dressing room”, the manager, speaking exclusively to this Reporter, said.
