Kabeer Sharma, FHM India editor said that the magazine had also a video of the photo shoot with Veena and an email from the Veena Malik that could proves the authenticity of the photo shoot.
“I have never posed bare. I have never done anything like that ever. My manager and legal team is looking into the issue. We will take legal action against them,” Veena Malik said.
Kabeer Sharma told the BBC: “We have video footage of the shoot as well as emails from Veena about how she’s looking forward to the cover.”
“The picture has been morphed. Its not me. Definitely not. Its a fake photo that shows me without cloths,” said Veena, at this time who is in Mumbai for reality show ‘Swyamavar’.
The topless photo of actress Veena Malik was exposed on FHM India’s website, Facebook page and Twitter account simultaneously today.
The revealing photo shows Veena Malik bare, with her arms and one leg positioned to hide her breasts and pubic area.
On her arm are emblazoned the words ‘ISI’, the abbreviation for country’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency – with the tag line, ‘hand in the end of the world too?’
Kabeer Sharma said that the reference to ISI was meant to be light-hearted, saying: “In India we joke about this… if anything goes wrong… we say the ISI must be behind this.”
“We have nothing to do with this controversy,” added Sharma. He said that to us it was a workaday shoot, business as usual.
The cover of the magazine’s December issue, posted on FHM India’s website, features Malik along with the caption: ‘Pakistani WMD Veena Malik on Asif, burqas and work visas’.
The cover has become the topic of discussions and debate in Pakistan, with numerous users of Twitter posting links to the webpage featuring Malik’s photograph.
In an apparent reaction to the photo, Pakistani actress Meera, who had earlier called Veena Malik a “cheap girl”, posted on Twitter: “Completely mad woman.”
Meera said: “Veena is representing Pakistan on the show in a very bad light. She is a very low-class actress in Pakistan. She has no respect back home. Veena is a stupid woman, who doesn’t know how to dress. All she knows is to create drama.”
The actress, who has worked in around 150 Pakistani films in a career spanning 14 years, also cleared the air about Veena and cricketer Mohammad Asif’s scandal. “I know Asif very well and he is a very good guy. Veena just used, rather misused his name,” she revealed.
Meera also disclosed that she has always been approached to be a part of ‘Bigg Boss’. However, while she had trouble adjusting her dates during the previous seasons, this time it was purely due to Veena that she declined the show. “I was offered ‘Bigg Boss 4′ but as soon as I learnt about her being on the show, I rejected the offer. Veena is just a nautanki and knows best how to use people for her personal gains,” said Meera.
Veena Malik is no stranger to controversy. In January she attacked hardline clerics in Pakistan who demand modest Muslims should be suitably covered at all times.
She also launched a severe attack on honour killings, stress that women were always the target and not men. ‘Have you ever heard that they’ve thrown acid in a guy’s face in Pakistan?,’ she asked.
Veena, after making her name has a Lollywood actress, the term used to describe films made in Lahore; She found very popular and famous when she took part in the Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss 4, last year.
Dressed in shorts and seen hugging with actor Ashmit Patel as well as swimming with Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, she was accused of behaving improperly by some Muslim clerics.
Veena Malik has also been accused of being a porn star. However, her refreshingly outspoken views have won her many fans from country’s younger and more liberal circles.
Confronted regarding her ‘immoral’ behaviour by Maulvi Mufti Abdul Qawi on a TV talk show, Veena snapped back that the country had far more important things to consider, including the rape of children in mosques.
‘I’m a Muslim woman, and I know my limits,’ Veena shouted back. The cleric appeared to be too astounded to react.
