SWABI, Feb 03 (INP): More than 260 suspected people were arrested during a search operation by police and security forces search operation in Malikabad area of Swabi district here on Wednesday.
According to District Police Officer DPO Swabi Javed Iqbal, the joint operation was launched on a tip-off. Arms were also recovered from the arrested people, he added.
The DPO said the arrested accused included illegal Afghan nationals, proclaimed offenders and other criminals.
Inter-provincial dacoits gang busted
The Special Security Unit (SSU) on Wednesday busted a five-member inter-provincial dacoits gang in the Capital.
Besides arms, the SSU also recovered Rs 5 million in cash and other looted valuables from their possession. The accused were also involved in the Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Riaz of Islamabad Police, several bank robberies and other crimes.
