Kashmir Solidarity Day to be observed on Friday

ISLAMABAD, Feb 04 (INP): All arrangements have been finalized to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on Friday to express solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir struggling for their freedom from Indian yoke.

Functions, seminars and rallies will be held all over Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan and abroad to denounce Indian atrocities and remind the international community to fulfill its commitment for granting Kashmiris their internationally recognized right to self-determination.

There will be a public holiday on February 5 to observe the solidarity day in a befitting manner.

A one-minute silence will be observed at 10 am sharp on Friday throughout the country to homour the Kashmiri Martyrs.

Meanwhile, in occupied Kashmir, the leaders of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (Gilani) have expressed gratitude to people and government of Pakistan for observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Kashmiri leadewrs Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Yasmeen Raja in their separate statements in Srinagar called upon the United Nations, European Union and Organization of Islamic Cooperation to play their role in the settlement of Kashmir dispute as per Kashmiris’ aspirations.
