Imran Farooq murder case: Judicial remands of Khalid Shamim, Mohsin extended till Wednesday

ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday extended judicial remands of Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim involved in the murder case of MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq till Wednesday (Feb 10).

During the hearing, ATC Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi objected on the interim challan which was filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for the fourth time.

According to challan, which contained confessional statements and criminal record of both the accused, the FIA declared Mohsin Ali as the prime culprit and Kashif Kamran as an accomplice in the murder.

A report having details of investigations from the culprits was also made part of the file presented in the court.

The challan included statements of three travel agents who provided visas to Mohsin Ali and Kashif. The challan termed MQM chief Altaf Hussain, Muhammad Anwar and Iftikhar Hussain proclaimed offenders. Details of bank accounts were included in the interim challan.

The court, however, raised an objection on the challan and returned it to the FIA with the directive to resubmit after removing of the objection. The court then extended judicial remands of the accused till Feb 10.
