Polish basketball female star Margo Dydek suffers heart attack


37-year-old Polish basketball female star Margo Dydek has been admitted to a Brisbane based hospital since 19 May; reports suggest that she suffers a serious heart attack. According to hospital authorities, the former renowned WNBA star is in a coma, a medically induced condition.

Standing as tall as 7-foot-2 Małgorzata Dydek, widely recognized as Margo Dydek all across the United States, reportedly collapsed while at her Brisbane family home on Thursday. Following the incident, an ambulance was called immediately to shift the professional basketball player to a nearby hospital. As mentioned above, her condition is serious and till the last reports arrived, she was still unresponsive.

Reports suggest that the 37-year-old is pregnant and the mother of two children is expecting her third baby. She used to be Northside Wizards’ coach while in the popular Queensland Basketball League. A statement by the Basketball Australia issued on Friday confirmed the news and detailed that following the severe heart attack on Thursday, she gave in and collapsed at home.

It was during the year 1988 when the Utah Starzz picked Margo as No. 1 WNBA draft pick and she stayed with the team from 1998 to 2002. Later, the very famous athlete for her extraordinary height also played for San Antonio Silver Stars, Connecticut Sun as well as Los Angeles Sparks from 2003-2004, 2005-2007 and 2008 respectively.

If Warsaw, Poland-born Margo is 7-foot-2, and her two sisters are also pretty tall, Kashka is 6-foot-7 tall while the younger sister also stands 6-foot-6.
