ISLAMABAD, Feb 02 (INP): Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced to hold a countrywide protest demonstration against the policies of the government regarding privatization of important national institutions and imposing extensive taxes on poor masses of the country.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Imran Khan said, “We will hold protests on February 06 in all districts against privatization and anti-masses tax policies of the government. I will participate in the protest because this democratic dictatorship is crushing the common man.”
He strongly condemned the brutal torture of law enforcers against the unarmed Pakistan International Airline (PIA) workers holding a peaceful protest against privatization of the national airline.
The chairman PTI described Karachi situation as a repetition of Model Town tragedy and warned that it was not in favour of country and government as well.
Imran Khan strongly condemned the use of force against protesting PTI workers and termed it worst example brutality.
“If the government was adamant on the privatization of PIA, it should have taken the workers into confidence,” he said, adding that attempt was being made to oblige cronies.
“Have they deliberately brought the PIA to a point so they could tell people they need to privatize it? he questioned.
It is worth to mention that at least two PIA workers were killed and over a dozen others wounded during a clash with law enforcement agencies at Karachi airport. Demonstrators were taking out a rally in protest against the proposed privatization of national flag carrier and the imposition of Essential Services Maintenance Act.
