THARPARKAR: Primary teachers of Tharparkar district took out a protest rally from Bilawal Bhutto- Zardari Park on Tuesday and staged a sit-in at Kashmir Chowk against the non-confirmation of their services and non-payment of their salaries.
Addressing a rally the office-bearers of Primary Teachers’ Association alleged that 414 candidates belonging to Tharparkar had passed the test conducted by Sindh University in 2010 and were appointed as primary teachers on a three-year contract that ended in August 2013.
However, they said that despite the completion of their contract and a bill passed by the Sindh Assembly that regularized their services, their employment services had not been confirmed and their salaries had been discontinued.
They urged relevant authorities to confirm their services and to continue giving them their salaries.
