Change will come as per constitution, not on Imran Khan’s desire: Rana Sanaullah
LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday said that Imran Khan will face defeat in Lahore just like he did in Islamabad a year ago, adding that change can only come through constitution and not as per Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s desire.
Talking to the media in Lahore, Rana Sanaullah said that Khan faced defeat when he went to ‘conquer’ Islamabad a year ago, adding that Khan will meet the same fate now that he has come to ‘conquer’ Lahore.
He asked why didn’t PTI lawyer fight the case if they had any hopes of winning NA-154 Lodhran by-election. He said PTI went for the escape route and not the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Responding to Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani’s criticism on accountability institutions, Punjab minister said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is an independent institution and anyone who has objections on its chief should take it up with the Supreme Judicial Council.
“We will not object even if NAB takes action against anyone in Punjab”, he said, adding that successful operation against terrorists is ongoing and that there are no safe havens for terrorists anymore.
