ISLAMABAD: The University of London (UOL) and School of International Law (SIL) Thursday honoured two Pakistani students who marked worldwide distinctions recently in UOL law graduate program here at SIL campus.

Currently on a short trip to Pakistan, Mr. Askey personally came over to congratulate the students on their impressive results and presented them with appreciation gifts from the UOL. He then had an interactive talk with students enrolled in the programme where studying techniques and exam marking was discussed.
Accompanying him was the UOL Country Manager Mr. Saad Wasim who also spoke about how Pakistani students are now showing the world their potential with such examples of academic excellence.
Mr. Askey congratulated the SIL for producing not one but two exceptional world record holders this year, something which no Pakistani institute has done before on this programme.
Zainab Samantash and Zunaira Shahid are both presently working on applying for scholarships for their Masters programme in UK. Zainab is also currently teaching at SIL as well as conducting advocacy workshops. The University of London has extended its application deadline for LLB (Hons) to 16th October 2015.
SIL has a policy of going beyond the classroom environment and textbook approach. Nida Tareen, Principal of SIL said, “We are passionate about providing our students with an enriching experience of what it is to be a lawyer in the making. Some of our extracurricular activities include training our students in advocacy and hosting regular mock trials within the campus. In addition, all courses include regular law moots and legal research training. Our in house publication, Spectrum of International Law, features articles and interviews by authorities in their fields on legal and ethical issues. SIL has also arranged for the top performers of each year to be placed with reputable law firms as interns and research associates during their summer break. This placement allows the students to gain invaluable practical experience.”
